Save St. Cyprian School!

As some of you may have heard, our beloved St. Cyprian School is in trouble.  Due to low enrollment and the rising cost of education, the Archdiocese of Chicago is requiring that the school has enough money in the bank to cover its operating costs for the coming school year.  At present, the amount needed to be raised by January 15, 2018 is $500,000.  While that amount may seem daunting, imagine River Grove without a Catholic School presence and what that might cost in raised property taxes and lowered property values.  We can’t afford to let them close the school.

We are asking everyone to please consider contributing to the capitalcampaign currently underway.  Please go to our Crowd Funding page at  No amount is too small.  Our students are counting on your support!   Thank you in advance for your generosity."

The Chamber by O’Hare is pleased to award (3) $1,500 scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year. All three recipients will graduate from East Leyden High School this spring.

Recipient, Artur Bak, a resident of River Grove, may attend DePaul University this fall majoring in computer science and cybersecurity.

The second recipient, Homero Vazquez, a resident of Schiller Park, is undecided at this point where he will be attending in the fall, but will be majoring in electrical engineering.

The third recipient, Joseph Adolfson, a resident of Franklin Park, is being awarded the Triton College specific technology scholarship and plans to major in mechanical engineering.

Artur, Homero, and Joseph were chosen based on outstanding academic, extracurricular, and leadership accomplishments.  Advancing the educational opportunities of our local students to become professionals, leaders, and valued citizens of our communities supports the purpose of the Chamber.  We wish them all great success in their academic pursuits.
